The course was extremely useful in the management, documentation, and liability associated with the SWAT element. It brought about important conversation about some positive things we are doing and some things that we definitely need to work on.

The instructors did a good job at getting feedback from the students (calling them out) during the training. The three instructors had good information but when they called upon students for their input, it turned some of the lectures into more of a discussion which is a great way to learn.

The course was beneficial to me by pointing out some areas of improvement that need to be made in the area of safety and efficiency. For example: Safety, by not alerting the team of a planned operation so far in advance that it compromises rest by creating anxiety. Efficiency, by showing the detailed templates for op plans, training plans and AARs. Last but not least, it was beneficial to have our SWAT Commander exposed to this information so that the need for changes and improvements were influenced by a competent, unbiased, outside source.
