Mike Foreman
1954 – 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mike Foreman, Director Emeritus of the NTOA and Executive Vice President of Point Blank Body Armor.
Mike Foreman began his distinguished career in law enforcement in 1974 when, at just 19 years old, he joined the Miami Police Department. In 1980, he joined the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in Orlando, Florida, where he would rise through the ranks over the next two decades. During his tenure, he founded the agency’s K-9 Unit and led operations in Criminal Investigations, the Gang Unit, and the Narcotics Unit. In 1982, Mike joined the OCSO SWAT team, where he spent the next 15 years serving in a variety of roles, including Team Leader, and concluded his service as the full-time SWAT Commander for his final three years.
It was during this time that Mike began his long association with the NTOA. In 1996, he became a member of the NTOA Board of Directors. From that point forward, his influence as an innovator, leader, author, and widely respected expert in SWAT operations and use-of-force issues continued to grow.
Mike’s contributions to the tactical community have been extraordinary. His career was defined by a steadfast dedication to enhancing the capabilities of law enforcement professionals and ensuring they were properly equipped, trained, and prepared to serve and protect their communities.
We extend our deepest condolences to Mike’s wife, Kathy, and the entire Foreman family.
