Twenty-five years ago NTOA’s first tactical conference was held in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Please join us as we return to Albuquerque to celebrate our 25th Anniversary Tactical Operations Conference and Vendor Show.

The Albuquerque Police Department is hard at work and dedicated to making this an extraordinary and unique conference experience!

• Attendees may choose from 32- or 24- hour practical tracks including HRT, TEMS, less-lethal and firearms training. An array of 8- and 4- hour seminar tracks will be held at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque and will address topics such as SWAT Supervision, Crisis Negotiations and Homicide Bombers.

• Our always top-notch vendor show on Sunday and Monday will bring together more than 120 vendors to showcase the latest in law enforcement technology.

• Conference registration begins on Saturday, September 13. The first 200 students to check in at the NTOA registration desk will be eligible to win a travel voucher courtesy of Dorel Travel.

• Seminars begin on Sunday, September 14 with a incident debrief from the Welby Way Incident by Officer Mike Odle, LAPD. This call-out resulted in the first fatality during an activation of an LAPD SWAT team member. 0900-1200. Also be part of our annual 5K Run and Barbecue.

• General Session will be held on Monday at 1400 hours and is MANDATORY!

• SWAT Call Out dinners will be held on Monday evening.

Registration forms for the SWAT Call Out Dinners will be available at www.ntoa.org/conference on August 1, 2008. Please sign up for a dinner and take advantage of this unique opportunity to dine with NTOA Board members and experts in the field.

• Practical tracks and the remaining seminar tracks start on Tuesday morning and the day concludes with refreshments to be served at Co-host Night. Training courses continue throughout the week.

• The final day of the conference will involve a single field training exercise (FTX) that will include several practical track participants, as well as students in the SWAT Supervisor seminars. The scenario will involve very contemporary issues and at the same time, recognize and allow you to experience a taste of the last day of the NTOA Conference 25 years ago.

*Students in these classes are required to bring a training weapon capable of shooting 9mm marking rounds. (The NTOA does not use .223 rounds for scenarios.)

All students participating in this exercise must check-off the selection under Friday on the registration form.
